Ciren Judo: Samurai Club - Rod Lane Kyu Grade Champs - Nov 12th 2017 Hana

CJC junior, Hana Tocknell (far left) took the Silver medal in her weight group, throwing and holding for Ippons. Hana beat two 1st Kyu (senior Brown Belt) and her 2nd Kyu (senior Blue Belt) opponents in the Women's open Weight category. Hana is currently Orange Belt (8 Mon), and so this is an amazing result and fantastic achievement- #PROUD

Joe Hardwicke (1st Kyu, right) on his first outing to attempt to earn points towards his Dan Grade finished the day exhausted after numerous bouts in both his weight group (U81kg) and the subsequent 1st Kyu Open Weight competition. Joe achieved Bronze medals in both sections, and gained 20pts towards his Black Belt - a great effort....well done Joe!

Evan Burgess (6 kyu, above left) took his heavy-weight group and several higher grades by storm with 4 wins from 5 bouts, to secure a brilliant Silver medal with excellent Ne-Waza skills. Congratulations Evan!

Dave Jones (2 Kyu, above right) faced some cultured and international opposition, losing an epic battle to his Belgian opponent in extra time. A great experience which will hold Dave in great stead when he fights as a 1st kyu for Black next year, 2018.
