CJC Senior Player Mark Grierson made a very impressive competition debut today as he entered the Samurai Club, Senior & Masters Men Kyu Grades, Walsall.
The British Judo Centre of Excellence training facility is a fantastic dojo, and venue for the event which was well attended in all categories.
Mark fought in the Masters event and in a pool of four: so faced three fights in an attempt to decide the medal positions.
When three of the players were tied in first place after the pool, they needed to fight again.
Mark battled both his nerves and tough opponents throughout this 5 fight ordeal, but in the process gained invaluable experience and the Silver Medal !
Particularly impressive was his use of left-sided hip techniques in the competition both in attack and as counters.
